Drawing and reading are equally important to me; they are automatic and feed each other. I try to make things that combine these two cultures. My favorite form of expression is the short poem and my favorite type of drawings are the illuminated texts from the middle ages. The hair-faced men and anthropomorphic demons I am working on now continue that tradition in a way. They accompany bits of advice and moral prejudices and act as surrogates for each of us.
