Christine Gray : Mimeographic Spectrum

Christine Gray's work transforms the meandering daydreams of materials often related to decorative arts, usually defined by their functionality, into uninhibited monuments of rich galvanized detail.  The resulting imagery, although at times whimsical, gives way to subtle tensions at play between the real and unreal, high or low modes of representation, and sheer vibrant spectacle.

Christine received her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003 and her MFA from the University oF California at Santa Barbara in 2007. She resides in Richmond, Virginia where she is a faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University.
